Ticking Time (And a JORD discount!)

Ticking Time (And a JORD discount!)

I have a thing for watches.

Unless I’m cooking or bathing my children, I have to wear one at all times. (See what I did there?) It just feels strange if I’m not wearing a watch. I guess it’s because it’s something I want to keep my eye on.

Time.

These babies aren’t babies anymore. They’re feisty toddlers with more energy that I could dream. And every morning they wake up, I notice something new about them that wasn’t there the day before. Even though it breaks my heart to know they are growing, it’s also exciting. Their personalities are being developed and Father has given me eyes to see their strengths and how to make them stronger. But He’s also entrusted me to call forth their gold.

Unseen. {A Book Giveaway}

I first felt it when I was a junior in high school. In the middle of our routine at half-time, I would glance in the stands, searching for both parents to be there, cheering me on. Only to be disappointed.

Then again, early in our marriage, when we were trying so desperately to communicate with one another. We would leave our conversation both feeling misunderstood.

A few years later, I found myself sitting in a room full of women with happy faces, holding up tiny outfits and talking about their pregnancy stories. I sat with a plaster smile on my face, praying they wouldn’t ask me, holding it together until I made it to the car.

My Spring Favorites

Gah. I know I’m their mama, but aren’t they the cutest?

Spring is in full swing over here! We spent all day last week working in the yard. We chose the only day it was going to rain to get our outside to-do list finished. Oh well. Remember how my husband works nights? Our schedule is kinda crazy, so rain or shine, we were sprucing this place up. And I’m so glad we did!

Something holy happens for me when my hands are in the dirt. When I have to clean out my fingernails and have dirty knees I know it’s been a good day. I spent that morning digging up old roots, preparing the ground for new seeds, for new life. That’s what God has been doing in me too lately. It’s so very exciting!

My Fall Favorites

My Fall Favorites

This time of year normally goes out as fast as it comes in.

But this Fall, I’ve actually had time to breathe in the spice of my pumpkin coffee and enjoy the twinkle lights on my decorated Fall mantel. I would say we’ve enjoyed the crisp mornings and flipped the switch several times already to our gas logs, but that would be a story. It’s decided to feel like summer here in SC for a few extra months. Literally just pulled out my coat from the closet yesterday. Now that Thanksgiving is almost here, we’re all hoping the weather will decide to cooperate.

We’ve done so much these last few months. We visited the pumpkin patch and the apple orchard both TWICE!
